History
Natural de Loulé, foi fotógrafo amador desde os 14 anos. Trabalhou em fotografia na Livraria Nazareth, em Évora, a partir de 1940. Profissionalizou-se em 1946, depois da reforma do exército (onde serviu desde 1923), dirigindo a Fotografia Nazareth a convite de António Nazareth. Adquiriu em 1958 este estabelecimento e em 1960 a Óptica Freitas, onde desenvolveu atividade até finais da década seguinte.
