De publicação quinzenal, o “Jornal de Quarteira” foi fundado em 1980 por José M. Farrajota Cavaco, dedicando-se à informação de caráter regional. O primeiro exemplar do jornal foi publicado em 30 de novembro de 1981.
Em 2010 o jornal era propriedade da empresa "Albufeira Magazine" e tinha como diretor Jorge Matos Dias, sendo na altura de publicação mensal.
