History

Natural de Chicago, foi historiador, escritor, poeta, desenhador e ativista social. Tendo tomado contacto com o surrealismo no início da década de 1960, viajou com sua mulher Penelope até Paris, entre Maio de 1965 e Dezembro de1966, estabelecendo contacto com André Breton e os surrealistas. De regresso aos Estados Unidos, juntamente com outros jovens artistas, fundaram o Grupo Surrealista de Chicago. O seu legado reparte-se entre a história do surrealismo e o ativismo pelos direitos dos trabalhadores americanos.
