Natural de Angola, foi poetisa e professora de Educação Física em Luanda. No regresso a Portugal, em 1979, fez estudos de História de Arte Moderna, pintura e ourivesaria. Foi uma das fundadoras da revista literária Sol XXI e da Associação Cultural Sol XXI.
