Biographical history
Curador e crítico de arte, natural de Coimbra, iniciou carreira como colaborador do Suplemento "Artes e Letras" do Diário de Notícias, foi membro da Associação Internacional de Críticos de Arte desde 1972. Fundou e dirigiu a revista Artes & Letras entre 1973-1977. Dirigiu a galeria "Diagonale/Espace Critique", em Paris, entre 1979-1990. Em 1984 comissariou a exposição La performance Portugaise no Centro Georges Pompidou e no mesmo ano, em Amsterdão, organizou um festival dedicado à performance portuguesa. Foi um dos principais divulgadores da arte portuguesa e dos seus protagonistas a nível internacional.
