Biographical history
Natural de Carcavelos, foi escultor, cenógrafo e professor de desenho, escultura e museologia na Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa, depois na Faculdade de Belas Artes. Fez cenários e figurinos para o Teatro de Cascais, para o Teatro Nacional D. Maria II e para o Teatro Experimental do Porto. Era membro da Academia Nacional de Belas Artes desde 1998.
