Biographical history
Escritor francês, crítico e historiador de arte, foi convidado por André Breton a juntar-se ao movimento surrealista. Participou nas suas atividades desde 1952 até à sua dissolução em 1969. Contribuiu ativamente para as exposições internacionais do surrealismo de 1959 e 1965, sendo um reconhecido especialista em surrealismo, escreveu monografias sobre artistas contemporâneos, sendo ainda poeta, romancista e autor de textos para teatro.
